Medical helicopter insurance terms are now being considered for the Georgia medical helicopter program, according to the Georgia Medical Helicopter Association (GMHA).
The GMHA’s chairman, Steve Mays, said the GMHA is currently reviewing the terms for medical helicopter insurers and will decide whether they are appropriate for Georgia’s medical helicopter industry.
“We’re trying to make sure they are right for Georgia,” Mays said.
“There are some terms that we have been working on.
I don’t know yet whether they’ll be approved or not, but we’ll look into that.”
The GMIHAA also said that its members have been contacting insurers for approval of the terms, but Mays confirmed the GMIHA will not be making any final decisions until the insurance industry meets again in early December.
“The GMHAA and our members are in a dialogue with the insurance companies and we’ll be able to make some recommendations on the terms to our members,” Mames said.
